Apache Group was founded under the name Apache Paper Company by Lyle Duesterhoeft and Paul Garofalo in 1967 and was formally incorporated in 1968. It was their intention to meet the needs of their restaurant customers with the new disposable paper and plastic items coming into the market.
In 1968, while attending the University of Minnesota, Joseph Adrian was employed as a part-time warehouse assistant and order puller. After one year, Mr. Adrian went into sales and in 1970 he assumed several office responsibilities.
In 1971, Joseph Adrian bought the business and moved it to East Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis. During the subsequent years, loyal employees were hired and excellent customers were obtained, many of whom are with us to this day, contributing to the continuing growth of the company.
In 1977, the business was moved to 285 Fillmore East, a 22,000 square foot location in the Riverview Industrial Park in St. Paul.
In 1987 we changed our name to Apache Group of Minnesota to better reflect our progressive thinking in the distribution field.
In 1990, we moved to a 50,000 square foot facility at 323 Stinson Boulevard N. E. in Minneapolis.
In September 1998, we moved to our current location at 1787 Gateway Boulevard in Arden Hills, Minnesota.
